Patio slab FAQ

Questions, answered.

Are concrete pavers and patio slabs the same thing?

They overlap. Pavers are the broad term for cast concrete units you lay for patios, walkways, and driveways. Patio slabs are the larger format versions, typically 12 inches and up. We cast both, in a range of textures and shapes.

What sizes do your patio slabs come in?

Common sizes run from 12 by 12 inches up to 24 by 30 inches, plus round slabs from 12 to 30 inches. Each style on this page lists its available sizes. We also cast custom sizes through our in-house mold shop.

Will precast concrete pavers crack in a Canadian winter?

They are built for it. We use a dense, freeze-thaw rated mix made for Canadian winters, the same concrete we pour for building facades across Western Canada, so the slabs resist cracking, spalling, and washout.
